RIYADH, 28 April 2004 — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd held talks here yesterday with Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qorei and urged the international community to end the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians.
King Fahd reiterated the Kingdom’s support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, the Saudi Press Agency said.
Qorei earlier met with Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard, and discussed the situation in Palestine. The two sides condemned the killings, assassinations and destruction at the hands of Israeli occupation forces.
Qorei’s visit comes two weeks after US President George Bush endorsed Ariel Sharon’s unilateral plan for the Israeli pullout from the West Bank.

Bush also effectively ruled out the right of Palestinian refugees to return to what became the state of Israel in 1948, saying they must settle in an eventual Palestinian state. Bush’s declaration was a blow to the 3.7 million Palestinian refugees scattered through the Arab world who cling to the dream of returning to their homeland.
