JEDDAH, 1 May 2004 — Negligence on the part of a Saudi mother in the central region of Qasim has cost the life of her son, Al- Madinah reported. The boy was crushed and beaten by the blades of the high spinning machine after falling in. The boy used a box to stand on to fulfill his mother’s request of loading more dirty clothes but toppled into the machine in the process. A family member later found the boy’s body inside the machine. The incident has shocked both the bereaved family and the Habeeriya town in the region.
