KUWAIT CITY, 3 May 2004 — Kuwaiti shares yesterday plummeted below the 5,000-point psychological barrier for the first time in four weeks over security jitters and correction pressures, traders said. The Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) index closed trading on 4,989.3 points after shedding 1.2 percent over last week’s closing of 5,050.00 points. Yesterday was the first trading day of the week as the bourse was closed Saturday on a public holiday.
