Hitachi Data Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd., is to enter the Middle East market for the first time. The company will debut at the “Storage World Middle East” event being held in Dubai from May 23-25 and has announced the appointment of three regional strategic partners: Sun Microsystems, STME and Naizak.

“The Middle East market is one that we recognize as having enormous growth potential. Until now, choice in the market has been limited and we are pursuing an aggressive market launch strategy to redress that situation,” said Brian Moroney, GM, MEMA (Middle East, Mediterranean and Africa) at Hitachi Data Systems. “Hitachi views the Middle East as an important emerging market and we’re deploying resources in the region to meet the very significant demand we are now seeing from local organizations.”
