Stonesoft, an enterprise network security company, has recently established a physical presence in the region with the opening of its office at Dubai Internet City. The company now plans a major push to introduce its security solutions to Middle East enterprises. In that regard Stonesoft has made announcements in regards to two of its products.
Stonesoft’s StoneGate Firewall and Virtual Private Network (VPN) solution has been awarded the Checkmark certification — the first firewall and VPN appliance available in the Middle East to be accorded this honor. Stonesoft has also released in the Middle East market StoneGate IPS, an intrusion detection and response system with intelligent analysis capabilities.
“Many major organizations have been relying on legacy intrusion detection solution (IDS) tools which are capable of producing tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of false or insignificant alerts a day,” said Jukka Sieppi, IPS product manager, Stonesoft. “Each of these alarms costs money. With the introduction of StoneGate IPS we are able to assist organizations in the Middle East in gaining a more accurate insight into event detection. By implementing our new solution, a company can lower the cost of security incidents and significantly reduce its administration burdens.”
Ninety percent of Fortune 500 Telecom companies and two out of every three top commercial banks use Stonesoft-branded products to meet their security needs. Stonesoft customers include Samsung, Shell, Lufthansa, Allianz, NASA and Merrill Lynch.
