ISLAMABAD, 21 May 2004 — Pakistan and Brunei signed agreements to combat terrorism and transnational crimes, boost defense cooperation and set up air links.
A joint statement said the talks were substantive, productive and focused on bilateral and multilateral issues.
The two sides agreed to cooperate closely in the fight against terrorism, to stem arms trafficking and other crimes.
They agreed to increase collaboration in defense through exchange of visits by military delegations.
On trade and investment, they decided to explore areas to promote joint ventures and encourage greater interaction between the private sectors of the two countries. They also agreed to cooperate in information technology.
Both countries stressed the need for reforms in the Organization of the Islamic Conference.
