SANAA, 25 May 2004 — Hundreds of Yemenis, mostly students of religious schools, demonstrated in Sanaa yesterday to protest against Israeli military operations in the Palestinian town of Rafah and the US-led occupation of Iraq.

The protesters shouted slogans including “jihad, jihad” and carried banners denouncing recent Israeli incursions into the Palestinian territories and US support for Israel.

Placards said “No to Zionist (Israeli) terrorism” while other banners pronounced Yemeni support for Palestinians and Iraqis and declared, Zionism and Americans would not enjoy peace unless they left Arab lands.
