Intel Corporation has named Stacy Jared Smith to the position of chief information officer (CIO). Smith will report to Andy D. Bryant, Intel’s chief financial and enterprise services officer, and will jointly coordinate Intel’s information technology (IT) solutions and the company’s efforts to be a 100 percent e-Corporation with Douglas F. Busch.
Brian Harrison replaces Smith as co-general manager of Intel in Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA). He shares this role with Christian Morales and will be responsible for driving Intel’s sales and marketing activities in the region.
Harrison joined Intel in 1984 and has held a number of technical and management positions in the manufacturing organization. Since 2000 he has managed Intel’s wafer production facilities worldwide, with over 16,000 employees at seven manufacturing sites. He has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Stanford University and a master’s degree from the University of Santa Clara. Harrison will be based at Intel’s office in Swindon, England.
