TOKYO, 2 June 2004 — World Bank president James Wolfensohn said yesterday the leaders of the Group of Eight (G-8) nations will discuss Africa and ways to promote economic development in the Middle East at their summit next week. Wolfensohn said the G-8 would reaffirm global interest in Africa and discuss ways to create “greater economic development” in the Middle East during the summit to be held at the Sea Island resort off the coast of the southern US state of Georgia.
