JEDDAH, 6 June 2004 — A new group wants to foster the talents of gifted young women in Makkah by finding them corporate sponsors.
Calling itself the Talented Patronage Group, it aims to organize cultural and social activities in a city that compared to Jeddah sees little of both. “We want to present competent, skilled women who have an outstanding talent whether in art, literature, or science or any other creative talent,” said Lamia Attas, the group’s founder.
To qualify for support, the women must be between 15 and 21 years old, come from Makkah, and agree to be exclusively represented by the group.
The group emphasizes teamwork in order to encourage these young talented women to succeed and develop their talent. For contact and information there is an e-mail [email protected], and a website will be launched soon.
