Sheikh Ahmed ibn Saeed Al-Maktoum, president of the Department of Civil Aviation, Dubai and chairman of Emirates Group, on Monday officially opened the Airport Build & Supply Exhibition, the Middle East’s leading airport supplies event. Sheikh Ahmed was accompanied by Laith Kubba and Nicholas Webb directors of Streamline Marketing and organizers of the event, as he cut the ribbon to officially inaugurate the three-day exhibition taking place at Airport Expo Dubai. He then toured the exhibition hall where more than 130 exhibitors representing almost 30 countries, including Germany, France, UK, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Australia, Malaysia, Finland, Lebanon and the UAE, are displaying a vast number of products and services vital to airports. Many of the products on display are being given their Middle East debut. UK-based National Air Traffic Services Ltd. (NATS) will use the event to showcase its Electronic Briefing Solution, which allows air traffic control centers to deliver information to key staff in a targeted, auditable and secure manner, through an intranet server.

The largest collection of diaries Bahrain has ever seen was unveiled on Sunday by Gulf Markets International (GMI). An agreement signed recently between Bahrain-based GMI and Srinivas Fine Arts (SFA), which is one of the world’s largest producers of diaries and paper products means companies in Bahrain will have access to the new 228 strong range of Nightingale brand diaries and other paper products for next year. This line of products is specifically tailored for the needs of Middle Eastern clientele (all diaries include the Islamic calendar). Srinivas Fine Arts (SFA) produces the diaries for well-known brands such as Neale Dataday, Peter Haddock Publishing Ltd. and Letts diaries. GMI will be the sole provider of the diaries in Bahrain and the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. GMI was scheduled to reveal its new range of Middle Eastern specific diaries and paper products on Monday to an audience of some 100 guests.
