Second quarter 2004 results for HP’s Imaging and Printing Group (IPG) show a 27 percent growth year on year in commercial imaging and printing products, a 20 percent increase in consumer imaging and printing products and a 24 percent increase in total hardware sales. HP has also achieved a 61 percent increase in supplies.
HP’s Middle East market has been pinpointed as the best performing over the last few quarters, with no exception in the second quarter of 2004. These financial achievements have been attributed to successful customer wins around the Middle East and work with government bodies, along with the continued research and development and the launch of new products, as well as extensive in-store promotions.
“HP IPG continues to enjoy strong growth and market share with enterprise customers, especially in the government and oil and gas sector, despite tough competition, because of the overall quality of our end-to-end business solutions. We are leading the imaging and printing market with a strong IP portfolio of over 9,000 patents globally which continually provides a powerful, new and extended portfolio of continued innovation for every customer’s need, ” said Amr Hassan, GM of HP IPG Middle East. “We have continued to maintain our No. 1 position and this exceptional position is one that HP intends to hold for many years to come.”
