JEDDAH, 2 September 2004 — Families of the bride and the groom got into a physical fight on the day of their marriage at a wedding hall in Jeddah recently, Al-Watan reported yesterday. Security officers had a tough time stopping fists from flying in the women’s section of the hall. The 19-year-old bride and her 15-year-old sister sustained injuries in the fight and they were taken to hospital for treatment, the paper said quoting their father. The quarrel erupted when the groom came to the women’s section with his brothers carrying video cameras to pose with the bride. This infuriated the bride’s family, triggering the fight.
