RIYADH, 4 September 2004 — The Saudi Journalists Association has condemned the kidnapping of two French journalists in Iraq.
A statement issued by the association said, “The Saudi Journalists Association is following with concern what is happening to the French who are threatened with death in Iraq.
“This is against the freedom of the media and violates human rights, especially since they were in Iraq on a journalistic mission.
“The freedom of the French journalists and their safety is a fundamental requirement. The Saudi Journalists Association condemns this hostage-taking.”
