MAKKAH, 16 September 2004 — On behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd, Makkah Governor Prince Abdul Majeed led the ritual cleaning of the holy Kaaba here yesterday. Top Saudi officials as well as diplomats from Muslim countries attended the ceremony.
The Kaaba was washed with zamzam mixed with rose water.
Later speaking to reporters, the governor said six huge projects in Makkah, estimated to cost nearly SR30 billion, would be completed shortly.
