JEDDAH, 6 October 2004 — The Eastern Cement Company has signed an agreement with a number of Saudi and Yemeni businessmen to establish a large cement factory in the Yemeni city of Mukla at an estimated cost of $200 million, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The Arab Yemen Cement Company, with a capital of $100 million, will supply clinker and ordinary cements to meet the region’s requirements. The factory will have a capacity of 1.2 million tons per annum.
