DUBAI, 17 October 2004 — Dubai-based property group Emaar said yesterday its net profits surged 107 percent to 1.04 billion dirhams ($283 million) in the first nine months of the year compared to a year ago. The company said in a statement total revenues rose 59 percent to 3.81 billion dirhams during the first three quarters of 2004, while annualized earnings per share climbed to 0.52 dirham from 0.27 dirham a year ago. Emaar’s share traded 1.6 percent down at 7.34 dirhams on the Dubai bourse, compared to a year high of 9.59 dirhams last month and a year low of 5.10 dirhams in July.
