RIYADH, 30 August 2005 — An old man requested some help in paying his electricity bill at an ATM from a young man who was lurking nearby, Al-Watan daily reported. Instead of helping him, the young man took advantage of the old man and stole money from him. The young man placed the card in the machine and then claimed that the machine had taken the card and that a technician was needed to get it out. In all innocence, the old man called the bank and asked for his card to be removed from the machine. When the bank technician arrived, he discovered the card was not in the machine and that the young man had taken the card and withdrawn SR5,000 from another ATM. Camera shots were later used to identify the thief.
