MAKKAH, 31 August 2005 — Prices continued to increase in Makkah over a range of products by 3 to 10 percent, Madinah newspaper reported. The increase was due to the global increase in oil prices and the global economic conditions, which reflected negatively on a number of products. Some food businessmen said that the increase in prices was not due to the 15 percent increase by the government in employee’s salaries.
