Constantine based on the comic book Hellblazer and Warner Bros’ Constantine puts you in boots of John Constantine, a Hellbound Exorcist who has literally been to hell and back and roams the dark-spots of Los Angeles looking for good-evil, angel-devil half-breeds to ensure that the balance is maintained. In this review, we’ll explore Graphics, Sounds, Multiplayer and Gameplay.

Graphics:

Even though the artists tried to capture the look and feel of hell based on the movie into a compelling image, the outcome is decent. On the other hand, the cut-scenes are all very well done and glossy. The characters models are very well designed and animated and the visual effects look impressive.

Sounds:

Constantine sounds’ are pretty good. The voice acting of the characters are well constructed even though the main character’s voice wouldn’t often sound like Keanu Reeves’ voice. The music and sound effects are pretty much average.

Multiplayer:

Constantine doesn’t support Multiplayer. Score: N/A

Gameplay:

The game starts with an impressive cut-scene with Constantine entering an apartment to rid a young girl’s body of demonic sprits. As events develop Constantine senses that the balance has been broken and it must be restored. Constantine’s Arsenal is composed of Artifacts such as Witch Curse, Crucifier, Holy Shotgun, Holy Water bombs and Amityville Screen Beetle and Incantations such Stormcrow, Hunger, Exorcise and Confusion. The former is used as weapons and grenades and the later is used as black magic. Constantine can also use True Sight, a unique ability to identify deadly half-breeder and other unearthly demonic secrets. The Gameplay is pretty much smooth and straight forward except for the controls which are pretty sluggish and require some adaptation.

Score: 8/10

To finish off, Constantine seems like a decent third person shooter. The story line is quite compelling and the visual effects are impressive. Even though Constantine isn’t the best movie-based game, I suggest this game to horror/action genre fans.
