DocSoft is seeking qualified beta evaluators for its state-of-the-art XML search engine, called “X3.NET” (pronounced x-cubed dot net). X3.NET indexes XML documents according to individual XML hierarchies in a document, rather than just to the document level as traditional search engines do.
This software has been developed using Microsoft’s .NET Framework and is optimized for Windows Server 2003. It also provides the capability to index additional formats such as HTML, Microsoft Office documents, CGM and PDF, while still providing context searching of XML-based documents (including SVG).
X3.NET leverages the power of structure inherent in XML to change the way people search data. Search engine users need the ability to get pinpointed results on the specifics of the information they seek without culling through hundreds of non-related hits. Providing search results within a focused context gives the user immediate solutions about their particular problem.
The company is now starting public beta testing of X3.NET and expects to release the software and X3.NET search appliance later this year.
