NEW DELHI, 7 September 2005 — The Bharatiya Janata Party yesterday decided to expel senior leader Madanlal Khurana for six years from the party. The BJP disciplinary committee recommended the expulsion after Khurana failed to reply to a show cause notice served to him a fortnight ago. He was asked to explain why he demanded the sacking of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Khurana said he was hurt and surprised by the decision.
