JEDDAH, 8 September 2005 — A three-week “India Festival” commences today, with its formal opening by Jeddah Mayor Adil Faqeeh at the International Indian School’s auditorium at 7.30 p.m, said Hifzur Rehman, consul for press and information. Indian Ambassador M.O.H. Farook and Nawab Kazim Ali Khan, UP minister of state and chairman of the UP Tourism Corporation, are the guests of honor. Consuls general from various countries and senior executives from business houses are among the invitees. “The opening ceremony will be marked by a four-hour program reflecting India’s diverse culture,” Indian Consul General Dr. Ausaf Sayeed said.
