MYRIAM Faris is a rising Lebanese star in the music industry. In a short time, she has managed to acquire hundreds of thousands of fans through her music. Her album “Ana Welshoog” was the beginning of the fame that took her up in the list of Arab singers. She recently released her second album “Nadeni”which was, according to many of her fans, as perfect as the first one.
Myriam Faris loved her second album for many reasons. She said, “In the first album, I chose songs that I liked and I gave them to a composer. The second album I felt as if all the songs given to me were perfect in terms of words and composition.” According to the singer, she owes her fame to her first album. The first album was the means of reaching her fans. She said, “My fans loved every single song in the first album and not only the songs that appeared in music videos. I remember in a concert in Jordan, I asked my fans what songs they wanted me to sing to them. They asked for songs that didn’t have music videos which meant that they listened to all my whole album, not only watched the music videos.”
Myriam is known for her curly hair. In her new album “Nadeni” she appeared as five different characters with five different looks. She said, “The idea was to change me into five different girls in the music video. I loved the idea because I start the video with my typical look, the one all my fans know, then through out the song I change to five different personalities, each one totally different from the other. The first time I had difficulty trying to adjust, and to be honest; I was a little concerned that my fans might not accept all those new looks. Each time I stood in front of the mirror after a change, I felt a little fear inside because I did not know the person in the mirror. I’d see a girl in the mirror but not me, as those different looks belong to five different girls that I had become.”
She added, “I do not like to look like other artists in terms of presenting songs similar to one another. Singers will not succeed if they present the same work; that is why they have to come up with something different each time they release an album. If they look the same physically, that is something else. Personally I do not consider myself beautiful. Since I was a child, my family has told me how beautiful I am. I just consider myself attractive, with a lot of charisma.”
