JEDDAH, 13 September 2005 — Lux Fashion World, a leading regional fashion event, will launch its fourth fashion show extravanganza, “Choose Glamour” in Beirut from Sept. 26 to 29. On the catwalk along with many others will be the well-known Saudi fashion designers, Fawziya Al-Nafea and Zaki Aboud.
The designers made the announcement themselves during a press conference at the Jeddah Hilton.
Both of them expressed pleasure in taking part in such a recognized event. They also revealed the dominant theme of their collections. Fawziya said that her collection would be based in Saudi tradition but in a modern way that suits today’s women.
At the same time, mermaids and marine life inspired Zaki’s collection which uses Swarovski’s crystals instead of regular bead embroidery.
In addition to the Saudi designers, other Arab designers featured include Lebanese Abed Mahfouz and Hanna Touma, Egyptian Hany El-Beheiri and Kuwaiti Awatef Al Hai. All the designers will celebrate the distinctive style of today’s women, featuring designs that showcase the latest in international glamour while including the region’s cultural distinctiveness.
For the fourth consecutive year, the event will be shown exclusively by MBC in November. Adorning LFW’s models will be a collection of the finest diamond jewelry from Fitaihi, the region’s leading jewelry designer.
