SANA’A, 15 September 2005 — Yemen flag carrier Yemenia is negotiating with the US aircraft manufacturing giant Boeing to secure the purchase of ten B787 planes, the official Saba news agency reported yesterday. The agency quoted Yemenia Chairman Abdul-Khaliq Al-Qadi as saying that the expected purchase was part of a plan adopted by the company’s board to expand the fleet. Yemenia has a fleet of 12 aircraft, including four Airbus 300-310, six Boeing 737s and two 727s. The airline flies to 32 destinations in the Middle East, Europe, Asia and Africa.
