JEDDAH, 20 September 2005 — The government has declared Saturday, Sept. 24, a holiday for all private companies in the country to mark the National Day.
“As the National Day falls on Friday, which is a weekly holiday, it has been decided that Saturday (Sept. 24) is a holiday for all workers in the private sector,” said State Minister and Acting Labor Minister Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Khuwaiter.
Civil Service Minister Muhammad Al-Fayez has already declared Saturday as an official holiday for employees in all government departments.
According to a royal decree issued earlier, if the National Day falls on an official holiday either the preceding day or the following day will be declared holiday to compensate for it.
