The Savola Group Retail Division will open its first Western Province hypermarket at Al Jama Plaza, Jeddah, on Tuesday. Occupying an area of 8,000 sq m, the new hypermarket has 35 cashier points to serve customers faster, a parking lot for 1,200 cars, and is staffed by 500 employees who include 200 Saudi nationals. According to Savola Group CEO Dr. Abdulraouf Mannaa, the group has constructed Al Jama Plaza and the HyperPanda at a cost of more than SR140 million. This investment is part of The Savola Group expansion strategy for the retail division and is supported by the group’s real estate division, which targets strategic locations that are expected to achieve high profits over a short-term period. “HyperPanda is unique because it has low prices and the widest possible selection of products to satisfy all family needs under one roof. Departments include meat, vegetables and fruit, dairy products, a bakery, prepared foodstuffs, kitchen supplies, beauty products, sports goods, and electronic products including TVs, computers and cell phones. The opening of the HyperPanda is timed in readiness for Ramadan in order to provide families with an economical shopping opportunity for all their needs during the holy month.
