MADINAH, 24 September 2005 — A 60-year-old Pakistani pilgrim was murdered by a fellow pilgrim at his residence in Madinah early Thursday.

Details of the crime emerged as friends of the victim went to check on him at his residence and found him dead. The body was lying in a pool of blood.

Police launched an investigation and arrested the suspect in two hours of their visit to the crime scene. The suspect, a 70-year-old pilgrim also from Pakistan, confessed to the murder saying he crushed the victim’s head with a hard rock while he was asleep. Police believe the murder. was the result of a disagreement between the two.
