Danya Foods Ltd., a Saudi diary and beverage company, and Gulf Catering Company, a catering and food manufacturing company, have announced the winners of their second Power Cow environmental art competition. Aimed to increase environmental awareness and involvement among today’s Saudi youth, this is a joint initiative that has again been supported by the Arab Network for Environment & Development and Tetra Pak Saudi Arabia. Distributed by Gulf Catering Company through its specialized schools feeding project (KaKo) in primary schools in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Alkhobar, the key elements of this year’s program revolved around a series of colorful posters and leaflets that invited primary students to submit their own creative impressions on the various environmental issues facing the Kingdom. “The number of responses this year was much higher than 2004, as was the level of originality and understanding that has been put forward by the students,” Martin S. Christensen, business unit manager, Danya Foods Ltd., said.
