Volvo was ranked 11th in the top 50 best-performance companies in Europe as per the European Business Week issue May/June 2005. The study is one of the leading indexes measuring the performance of major corporations in 17 Western European markets, including the 12 members of the euro zone. The performance ranking is computed by growth in sales and earnings figures for the latest available 12-month period, taking into account the last three-year growth that indicates the maintenance of producing superior growth and profits over a longer term. Aside from several economic and strategic factors behind the growth, Volvo cars’ increasing sales are made easier with their new generation out-of-the-box designs. It claims to have become a complete car, one that has all a savvy driver would need including sporty new looks, comfortable and spacious inside, and speed and safety.
