JEDDAH, 11 October 2005 — The Saudi Red Crescent Society has deployed 50 first aid teams in various parts of Makkah to serve hundreds of thousands of pilgrims flowing into the city to perform Umrah and taraweeh prayers, according to Muhammad Al-Malabari, director of the society in Makkah. “We have opened three temporary first aid centers in Rusaifa, Falaq and Al-Adel districts,” Malabari said. The society has called in 23 teams from other regions for Ramadan duty in the holy city, he added.
