The Sheikh Mohammed IT Education Project (ITEP) has created a Braille International Computer Driving License Coursebook for the Arab world. The book, which was developed in conjunction with Tamkeen, the Dubai-based resource center for the visually impaired, seeks to improve IT literacy among the region’s visually impaired by providing the ICDL curriculum in an accessible format. The book will become readily available in the market in 2006.
The ICDL coursebook will assist the visually impaired in studying for the International Computer Driving License (ICDL), a globally recognized credential the certifies an individual as competent in using computers.
