Man Investments yesterday announced the appointment of Patric Merville as deputy regional manager and head of institutional sales for the Middle East. Born in Lebanon, he was previously a director at Merrill Lynch in London where he spent six years, first as an institutional salesperson in emerging market equities and then in the hedge fund prime brokerage sales group. An experienced banker with exposure to hedge funds and alternative investments throughout his career, he has also held roles at HSBC in New York as vice president in institutional sales emerging market equities and Credit Agricole where he was an associate in the private equity business. “Patrick’s extensive knowledge of both the industry and the region will greatly enhance our ability to meet the needs of institutional investors within the Middle East,” Antoine Massad, head of Middle East & Asia at Man Investments, said. “Man Investments has been serving clients in the Middle East for almost two decades. Most recently, we’ve seen growing demand from corporate investors and we’re now moving to meet that need and serve this new customer base,” he said.
