RIYADH, 18 October 2005 — Saudi Arabia’s Bank Aljazira said nine-month net profits leapt 307 percent to a record SR484 million ($129 million) from SR119 million in the same period last year. Total operating income rose 84 percent to SR835 million, the bank said in a statement released on Sunday night on the website of the Saudi stock market. Customer deposits rose 23 percent to SR10.23 billion, while shareholder equity soared 127 percent to SR2.24 billion. Bank Aljazira’s loans and advances portfolio was up 36 percent at SR6.61 billion, it said.
