TNT Express, the world’s leading B2B express delivery company, has appointed industry veteran Ahmed Gamal as country general manager in Bahrain. Egyptian Gamal, who held various senior level positions in the industry for over a decade, takes up his new role following a year as special services manager at TNT in Cairo, where his duties involved managing a team of 150 staff in operations, customer service, sales and finance. “Through increased infrastructure investment and focus on Bahrain, we are targeting a 40 percent increase in business from the Kingdom over the next year and Gamal will spearhead our planned expansion in the country which will create an additional 20 jobs for Bahraini nationals,” said Mark Pell, TNT’s managing director, Gulf. TNT’s immediate plan is to invest in an additional 1,500 square meters of warehousing and office space to accommodate growth, both in its Middle East Road Network and the anticipated surge in business out of Bahrain.
