JEDDAH, 28 October 2005 — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah received Haj Minister Dr. Fouad Al-Farsy and heads of Haj-related organizations at Al-Safa Palace in Makkah on Wednesday night and reviewed preparations for the forthcoming Haj.
During the meeting, Al-Farsy commended the king’s efforts in the service of Islam and Muslims.
He said the private Haj organizations were committed to improving their services in response to the instructions by the Saudi leadership.
Abdullah Alauddin, head of the coordination committee of the Haj service organizations, said the peace and security prevailing in the Kingdom had enabled millions of pilgrims from around the world to perform their religious duties with ease and comfort.
King Abdullah has instructed authorities to conduct a study on providing air-conditioning facilities on all floors of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, according to Abdul Mohsen Bin-Humaid, director of projects at the Presidency for the Two Holy Mosques Affairs.
Also on Wednesday night, the king received Culture and Information Minister Iyad Madani, who is deputy chairman of the King Abdullah Housing Foundation and chairman of its executive committee, as well as the committee’s members.
King Abdullah expressed his happiness over the progress of the foundation’s projects. He emphasized the foundation’s plan to carry out more housing projects for the poor and needy in various parts of the Kingdom.
