DAMMAM, 31 October 2005 — Sources close to Al-Watan discovered the reason why a mentally ill father kidnapped his family and threatened their lives with a knife inside their house for 14 hours last Sunday. The man lost his mind when he discovered that his cell phone was missing. He locked his family inside a room and threatened to kill them if he did not find his phone. Police and teams from the special forces managed to calm him down and take his weapon away before he injured himself or his family. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
