MAKKAH, 9 November 2005 — A recent study conducted by the Ministry of Haj revealed that the income from Umrah this year is estimated at SR7 billion, Al-Watan newspaper reported. The same study expected that the income will increase to SR18 billion in ten years with the implementation of the current Umrah system. The current 229 Umrah companies are dealing with more than 3,500 international agents in addition to land, sea and air transportation. These Umrah companies employ more than 3,000 Saudis.
