MADINAH, 9 November 2005 — A sport journalist who works for a local sports paper in Madinah found himself facing a serious charge about what he thought was going to be a great story, Okaz reported. The journalist went to a local mental hospital to interview a sick player there. To overcome security restrictions, he offered the security guard SR600 to facilitate his entry. The guard took the money and reported the incident to his manager who called the police. The journalist was arrested on the site and taken to the police station where he was charged with bribery.
