TAIF, 10 November 2005 — Police in Taif arrested an Asian expatriate after he cut off his wife’s nose and upper lip, Al-Watan said yesterday. Sources at King Abdul Aziz Hospital said the woman arrived at the hospital in a very bad state. Surgeons will attempt to replace her nose and restore her upper lip. The man is currently in jail awaiting investigation. The woman told the police that her husband grew suspicious when he heard her speaking to a stranger outside their door. The enraged man picked up a kitchen knife and cut her nose and upper lip, she said.
