DHAHRAN, 10 November 2005 — In the Eastern Province, there is a tradition for thousands of people to visit the Saudi Aramco Exhibit over the Eid holidays and enjoy the company’s hospitality and the special activities offered.
This year, the festival runs until 8 p.m. daily through the ninth day of Eid.
The exhibit presents entertaining and educational programs for all members of the family besides displaying educational shows, such as the 3-D film “Energy to the World” along with the environmental animated feature “Al-Khuzama Land” and the informative “Where Does Petroleum Come From?”
The surprise this year was a heritage tent that presented rare, old pieces of codex, coins and books of the Saud Al-Babtain Charitable Center for Heritage and Culture. This tent gave visitors the chance to learn about Islamic culture through history, with some pieces dating back to its early years. Another display focused on the reign of King Abdul Aziz through photographs of significant events during that time.
The exhibit also features an art area for drawing and painting where winners are selected at the end of each program. There also is a storytelling corner for children.
Besides all that, visitors can tour the Petroleum Exhibit and learn about everything from its beginnings to production and refining in easy-to-understand, interactive displays. At the end of the tour is a corner devoted to Islamic heritage. It’s a great way to spend some time with the family and combine entertainment with education — and fun.
