JEDDAH, 11 November 2005 — Teams from the Jeddah Municipality, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Traffic Department carried out inspections and seized more than 25,000 defective tires, Al-Riyadh newspaper reported. The teams closed down 201 shops selling defective tires and destroyed more than 1,400 pieces. The municipality has urged citizens to report to the municipality or the ministry about any shop selling such tires.
