DAMMAM, 15 November 2005 — Police in Dammam arrested 300 people and questioned them over their suspected involvement in a number of rape cases in the past four months, Al-Watan reported. Police said all suspects had to be released because there was no evidence against them. More than 75 crimes were reported in the Gharnata neighborhood of Dammam during the four-month period. Explaining the criminals’ modus operandi, a police officer said they watch and wait for male members of the family to leave the household to break in and assault their women.
