DUBAI, 16 November 2005 — Nokia extended its multimedia convergence strategy by presenting its three Nseries multimedia computers in Dubai yesterday.
The computers — N71, N80, and N92 are being presented for the first time in the Middle East & Africa region and second time globally, Anssi Vanjoki, executive vice president and general manager, Nokia, said at the day-long event.
The event, labeled the region’s first “Nokia Nseries experience,” brought together more than 200 channel distributors, industry experts and media from Europe, the Middle East and Africa together here.
“Nokia continues its tradition of leading the industry in both its vision for the future direction of the converged multimedia market and in developing the phones people use to live this new world where voice, IT, enterprise applications, broadcasting, music and imaging, all are at hand virtually anywhere, in a pocketable multimedia computer,” said Vanjoki who hosted the event.
A number of first-of-a-kind presentations by senior Nokia executives demonstrating the power of the world’s leader in mobile communications’ latest devices. They include the world’s first mobile device with a built-in DVB-H receiver for live TV viewing and the world’s first handset to feature universal plug-and-play technology.
The Nseries combines latest technologies, such as 3G, WLAN, megapixel cameras, large gigabyte memory and high-resolution video.
