DOHA, 17 November 2005 — Qatar Petroleum and US firm Chevron Phillips Chemical signed yesterday an $800-million joint project to produce petrochemicals, Qatari Energy Minister Abdullah ibn Hamad Al-Attiyah said. “The Q-Chem II Project ... will cost more than $800 million,” Attiyah said at the signing ceremony attended by visiting US Secretary of Energy Samuel Bodman.
