JEDDAH, 23 November 2005 — Prince Sultan ibn Salman, secretary general of Supreme Commission for Tourism (SCT), has offered his full support to the first Public Relations Forum set at the Jeddah Hilton for two days from Nov. 28. A communication specialist himself, the prince has a wealth of knowledge in social & political science and public affairs, Loay Nazer, chairman of Arab Conferences Company (ARC), which is organizing the event, said yesterday.

“It’s without a doubt that Prince Sultan’s patronage provides gargantuan support to the communications and PR industry as a whole not only in the Kingdom but in the region as a whole. We’re both honored and privileged by his presence and patronage which will indubitably bring the forum to another level of excellence,” Nazer told Arab News.

The forum has generated exceptional interest and hype in the Kingdom and is supported by both public and private industry pioneers including the International Public Relations Association-Gulf Chapter, Jeddah Marketing Board (JMB), the SCT and Saudi Creative Communication Services (SACCS/TRACCS). Major Saudi companies such as Saudi Aramco, Al Hanoo Holding Company, Al Baik Food Systems, the Savola Group, and Saudi Arabian Airlines have all pledged support to the forum, which aims to cultivate the PR industry in the Kingdom.
