JEDDAH, 23 November 2005 — The Saudi stock market recovered yesterday after suffering fall for the last three consecutive days. The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) edged higher by 106.13 points to close at 15,994.66.
The Banking index surged 641.98 points at 40,211.82 as shares of major banks gained yesterday.
Only shares of the Saudi Investment Bank, Arab National Bank and Samba Financial Group fell while other banks reported increase in prices.
Shares of Al-Rajhi Banking & Investment Corp. jumped 4.77 percent at SR2,460 followed by Bank Albilad by 3.18 percent at SR901.75 and Bank AlJazira by 1.05 percent at SR1,345.
The Industrial index was hardly moved as it closed at down at 39,268.98 points.
Savola Group shares fell slightly at SR1,209 yesterday
The Cement index was down over 41 points at 8,657.85 as shares of all cement firms declined except Qassim Cement.
The Agriculture index was higher by 128.37 points at 6,351.75 as shares of major companies such as Saudi Fisheries, Qassim Agriculture, Bishah Agriculture, Gizan Agriculture posted hefty gains.
Out of 77 shares traded 37 were higher while 37 were down. The value of the shares traded reached SR12.5 billion yesterday.
