JEDDAH, 28 November 2005 — For those itching to meet Sharon Cuneta in person, the Philippine “megastar” will be performing in Dubai on Dec. 9 in an event dubbed 2005 Dubai Mega Tour Concert.
According to ABS-CBN’s Middle East management, preparations are under way for the Mega Tour at the Dubai Tennis Stadium of the Aviation Club.
“We are now focusing our energy on our yearend event featuring the megastar herself, Miss Sharon Cuneta, who will be performing before her Filipino fans and other nationalities who are admirers of world-class Filipino talents,” said Edgardo Garcia, managing director of ABS-CBN Middle East.
Garcia said they are expecting a huge reception for the “megastar” from Dubai’s estimated 200,000 Filipino population in the entire United Arab Emirates.
To make it easier for those outside of Dubai who want to watch the concert, a special package tour will be made available, Garcia said.

ABS-CBN has been actively bringing in Philippine celebrities to entertain the Filipino community in the Middle East.
On Oct. 12 to 14 when the movie Dubai were shown in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, ABS-CBN brought in the film’s lead starts, Claudine Barreto, Aga Muhlach and John Lloyd Cruz.
It also brought in to the UAE balladeer Martin Nievera in December 2003 and the internationally acclaimed movie Milan in February 2004.
