MAKKAH, 29 November 2005 — A Saudi man who was desperate to save his mother’s life used the Internet to get urgently needed blood donation for her, Al-Watan reported. After he visited hospitals searching for the blood his mother needed and failed to find it, he posted a request on the Internet with his name and phone number. He asked anyone with the required blood type to phone him. He received calls from many people who were willing to donate blood to his mother.
